Dr. Colleen Pearson
I received my Doctorate of Psychology at 44 after initialing working in IT. I never looked back. I trained in hospitals as a Health and Medical Psychologist. This included working with trauma victims, accident victims, and those struggling with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and cancer. In my private practice, I worked with individuals from the age of 2 1/2 to 93. The issues we’ve dealt with run from anxiety, depression, PTSD, work stress, life stress, relationship stress, basically every problem we can encounter in life.
I taught Psychology to undergraduate students, gave talks to chronic illness organizations, spoke at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and mentored future therapy professionals as they began their journey as Psychologists.
During the pandemic, I got certified as a Mindfulness and Meditation teacher because I believe those practices help everyone, no matter what the issues or challenges.
My practice is now focused on using Mindfulness and Meditation practices to assist my clients in their day-to-day struggles. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Compassionate Focused Therapy.
